Desert Guardian

In the heart of the desert, where the wind draws paths no one remembers by dawn, walked the Guardian of the Sands.

He was only a boy, with steady steps and an ancient gaze, as if he had been born carrying the memory of the sun. His light tunic blended with the dunes, and the scarf around his head protected him not only from the heat, but also from the secrets the desert whispers to those who know how to listen.

Beside him rested the Leopard, immense and silent, with golden eyes that knew no fear. A chain connected them, though it was not truly made of iron—it was a pact. The boy was not its master, nor was the beast his prisoner. They were both guardians, bound by a promise made long before the boy learned to speak.

Legends say that when the desert began to devour villages and erase names, the ancient spirits chose a protector with a pure heart and a creature born of the night. The leopard would guard strength, and the boy, will.

As the sun fell and shadows stretched across the sand, the Guardian stood motionless, watchful. If a traveler became lost, the leopard would rise without a roar and guide the way. If greed tried to claim what belonged to no one, the boy’s gaze alone was enough to stop it.

No one knew where they came from or where they were going. It was only said that as long as the boy stood upon the sand and the leopard rested at his side, the desert would keep its balance—fierce, sacred, and free.

And so, beneath an endless sky, the Guardian and his companion waited, protecting a world few understood, but without them, would simply cease to exist.
